If your Windows 10 or 11 system reports that FRED cannot be activated as the product key was used on another device or has detected major hardware changes, apply the key that shipped with the system. The Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) is applied to the back of the system that contains your system's license key. It was also included on your Welcome Letter.

Below are the instructions for changing the key:

Windows 11

1. Select the Start button.

2. Open Settings.

3. Click on System.

4. Click on Activation.

5. Click the Change product key link.

6. Type your 25-digit product key found on the CoA sticker on the back of your FRED system.

7. Click Next to complete the process.

Windows 10

1. Select the Start button.

2. Open Settings.

3. Click on Update & security.

4. Click on Activation.

5. Click the Change product key link.

6. Type your 25-digit product key found on the CoA sticker on the back of your FRED system.

7. Click Next to complete the process.
