UltraBay 4P Not Powering On

Every UltraBay 4P is built and tested when they are shipped. Sometimes during shipping the power connectors on the back of the installed UltraBay develop a bad connection. Getting inside the UltraBay 4P unit to check these connections can get the unit operational pretty quickly.

Below are some pictures that show how to get inside the case to perform this procedure. Doing this does not affect the device's warranty.

1. Remove 2 screws securing the back plate to the enclosure.

2. Slide the top cover of the enclosure towards the back (note the orientation of the cover as is needs to go bock on the same way).

3. Disconnect and carefully reconnect the two SATA power connections on the back of the UltraBay.

NOTE: If the fan on the back panel doesn't spin when powering on the UltraBay 4P, disconnect these two SATA power connections and see if it then spins. If the fan spins while they're disconnected, that indicates that the UltraBay 4 bridge itself is shorted out and is in need of repair. Please open an RMA ticket at https://digitalintelligence.com/support/ if this is the problem you're having.
